Overview
About our Compensation & Salary Benchmarking
What Is Salary Benchmarking?
Salary benchmarking is comparing what you pay for each role with what similar employers pay for similar work in the same location. Compensation consulting turns that data into pay bands, benefits and policies, so you can make offers that win candidates, reward performance and keep good people, without overpaying.
Signs Your Pay Needs a Review
Candidates turn down offers because of pay
Good people leave for higher salaries elsewhere
Similar roles in your company are paid very differently
You need salary ranges for job adverts
What a Compensation Review Covers

How It Works in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia
USA: Several states and cities, including California, Colorado, New York and Washington, require salary ranges in job postings.
UK: Employers with 250 or more staff must publish gender pay gap figures each year.
Canada: Pay equity laws apply to federally regulated employers and in provinces such as Ontario and Quebec, and some provinces require pay ranges in job postings.
Australia: Modern awards and the National Employment Standards set minimum pay and conditions for many roles.
Market data changes over time, so we date every benchmark and recommend reviewing pay at least once a year. This is general information, not legal advice.
