The Business
Challenge Context

The University of California is a public university system in California, USA. In 2024 it worked with Vortexian Tech on hiring labor workers in the USA.

Roles We Supported

  • Labor workers: hands-on roles hired in the USA, with candidates sourced and screened by Vortexian Tech's HR team

Why This Hiring Was Difficult

Labor roles need people who are reliable, physically ready for the work and available for the agreed shifts. Every candidate also had to be authorized to work in the United States. Checking each applicant's availability, experience, references and work eligibility before they reached the hiring team took time that the client's own staff did not have.

Vortexian Strategy
Resolved

Vortexian Tech's HR team ran the labor hiring as one recruitment project, with a single point of contact from the first role brief to the last start date.

How We Ran the Hiring

  1. Role briefs. We agreed the skills, experience level, working hours and responsibilities for each position with the university. We confirmed shift patterns, physical requirements and start dates for each position.

  2. Parallel sourcing. We searched for every role at the same time, so no position had to wait for another to be filled.

  3. Screening and checks. We interviewed applicants and checked their experience, skills and references against each role, so the client only met candidates who were ready for the job.

  4. Client interviews. The client interviewed each shortlist and made every final hiring decision.

  5. Onboarding. We coordinated offers, start dates and onboarding so each new hire could begin work in the client's own systems and processes.

The Result

The university received screened, work-ready labor candidates through one hiring partner. Its team could focus on its own operations while Vortexian Tech handled sourcing, screening and onboarding coordination.
